The Perfect Christmas Eve Checklist For Guaranteed Family Fun

The holidays can be very stressful. There are so many jobs to be done before Christmas! We have made a simple Christmas Eve checklist that will help you make time for some family fun before Santa makes his visit.

If you're looking for a range of options to suit everyone, our suggestions are perfect for the whole family to enjoy!

Santa's cookies and milk

If I had to deliver presents all around the world in one night, I would want a snack on the way too! Cookies and milk are always great options to leave out. For something a bit different, why not try:

  • Brownies

  • Toffee apples! They're simple to make, and they will last longer than cookies while Santa is travelling

  • Cheese and crackers

Reindeer food

It's well known that Santa needs some food on his big journey, but what about his hard-working reindeers? You can leave some snacks specifically for the reindeers next to Santa's food. You can even label the treats so Santa knows to share! But what do reindeers eat?

  • Pack oats into a nice little bag for Santa to sprinkle out

  • Carrots

  • Seeds and nuts are always a lovely treat

A letter to Santa

It may be a bit late to let Santa know what presents you would like, but you could always let him know about all the beautiful things that happened this year. You could also write a little message to Santa to thank him for visiting!

Hot chocolate tasting!

Although Christmas in Australia is in the middle of summer, hot chocolates are a must. Have a friendly competition with friends and family to see who can make the best hot chocolate for some Christmas Eve fun. Don't forget the marshmallows!

Christmas music and movies

For a relaxing Christmas Eve spent at home, there are so many holiday movies and Christmas carols to choose from! Better yet, if you've been baking for Santa's visit, you'll have plenty of treats to enjoy as a family.

Smile for photos!

There's nothing like looking back at old photos, especially with all your friends and family around for Christmas! You don't need a fancy camera and can use your phone.

Ask Mum and Dad for a disposable camera if you don't have one. The fun of having your photos printed is always a wonderful surprise. If you want it to be even more special, put on some matching pyjamas or Christmas costumes!

Pssst: feel free to do any of these activities before Christmas Eve if you're too excited to wait! Share all of your Christmas fun with us on our socials, especially if something from our Christmas Eve checklist made you smile. Merry Christmas!
