5 Father's Day Feast Food Ideas - for Kids

1. Brekkie - Perfect Pikelets


Get a scrumptious start to your day with the perfect pikelets for Dad’s breakfast in bed! Follow along with Mel the Camp Quality puppet and learn how to make yours in a few easy steps. 🥞


To make your Perfect Homemade Pikelets, you'll need:

  • 3/4 cup of milk

  • 1 cup self raising flour

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 1 egg

Only 4 main ingredients! Super quick and super easy. 😋

2. Snack - Ham & Cheese Toastie


This is no ordinary ham and cheese sandwich - it's the cheesiest, fanciest, most delicious take on the classic Dad loves! Camp Quality's South Australian Chef Ambassador Scott Huggins is the father of 6 kids, so he really knows the perfect plate of food to make Father’s Day extra special. 🥪


To make your yummy Ham and Cheese Toastie, you'll need:


Sandwich

  • 2 slices thick cut white bread

  • 100g ham off the bone from the deli or small goods

  • 50g slice sharp cheddar cheese

  • small drizzle of honey

Béchamel Sauce

  • 20g plain flour

  • 30 g butter

  • 200g milk

  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 50g smoked cheese

  • 1 tsp Australian mustard

3. Lunch - BBQ with a snazzy Spice Rub


Is your Dad King of the barbecue? Make our tasty homemade BBQ spice rub to use on Dad's favourite cut of meat and get grilling! 🥩


To make your BBQ Spice Rub, you'll need:

  • 2 tsp of cayenne pepper

  • 2 tsp of dried thyme

  • 1 tbs of garlic powder

  • ⅓ cup of brown sugar

  • ¼ cup of paprika

  • 2 tsp of dried mustard

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • an old washed jar

  • a snap-lock bag

  • twine and a gift tag to decorate (optional)
